KFB’s NOT YOUR BEST Series was created in response to “contest culture” to counter silly [rampant] notions of “best/awards/winning” to simply recognize/acknowledge the work itself.
Editor Kirby says,
“I’m a visceral poet and reader, make it memorable. Surprise and delight. Give me something that sticks, that causes me to stop, read aloud, want to share, return to, that I won’t forget. Good poetry does just that.”
Get busy.
KIRBY [Editor] is the author of WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE CALLED? (Anstruther Press, 2020) THIS IS WHERE I GET OFF (Permanent Sleep Press, 2019) SHE’S HAVING A DORIS DAY (knife | fork | book, 2017), and forthcoming POETRY IS QUEER (Palimpsest, Fall 2021).
*”What’s straight?” **Selected poets/works will be notified upon acceptance with publication details/agreement to follow. Projected KFB publication date: Fall 2021.
