Dear Friends,

A little note of hello–I’ve been traveling so much this spring and summer (with more to come!) and miss you all. Wanted to let you know that with the help of the always dazzling Kirby of knife fork book, we have an event to look forward to: a reading with my friend and poet Kimberly Alidio and me, timed for her visit to Toronto and my tiny window of not being away. 

I truly hope you can come out to hear us read and share some time together…please tell and invite your friends?

KIMBERLY ALIDIO is a U.S. East Coast-born second-generation Filipinx tenure-track dropout living in East Austin, Texas. She wrote After projects the resound (Black Radish, 2016) and solitude being alien (dancing girl press, 2013). Recent poems have appeared in Entropy, Hold, Nat.Brut, and Texas Review. She was the inaugural artist-in-residence at the Center for Art and Thought, and received a doctorate in modern U.S. history from the University of Michigan, postdoctoral fellowships from the National Academy of Education/ Spencer Foundation and the University of Illinois’ Asian American Studies Program, and poetry fellowships from Naropa University, VONA/ Voices and Kundiman.

Born in the Mekong Delta and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, HOA NGUYEN lives in Toronto. From Wave Books, her poetry collections include As Long As Trees Last, Red Juice: Poems 1998-2008, and Violet Energy Ingots, nominated for a 2017 Griffin Prize for poetry. She teaches poetics at Ryerson University, for Miami University’s low residency MFA program, for the Milton Avery School for Fine Arts at Bard College, and in a long-running, private workshop.
