This winter, poet HOA NGUYEN returns to FRED WAH with a pair of writing workshops in support of knife | fork | book
“Verse, prose, verse-prose: multi-referential yet playful. It is a book of poetics as poem as reality-expanding creative possibility. In a sequence written across books and forty years, MHT is a poetics of process—as opposed to a poetics of knowledge—that directs our attention to the play of reality and time, as being led by words to where “the wickerwack of wonder prevails”.
— Hoa Nguyen on Fred Wah’s Music at the Heart of Thinking (Talonbooks 2020)
On the eve before the longest night, join poet HOA NGUYEN in a special two-hour workshop offered by her in the spirit of connection, creativity, and continuance. Participants of the workshop will read and write with Fred Wah’s Music at the Heart of Thinking (Talonbooks, 2020) as they think and create with the promise of poetry. Experience this chance to respond, play, inquire, and engage in writing as a relational form of listening with this legendary poetics teacher.
