Marcello Di Cintio’s book Pay No Heed to the Rockets reveals life in contemporary Palestine through the lens of Palestinian literary culture. In honour of National Poetry Month, Di Cintio will share some of the writing of the Palestinian poets he writes about in Pay No Heed and tell stories from their fascinating lives.

Access: We are a second floor walk-up with two all-gender washrooms. Please remove your shoes upon entrance.
MARCELLO DI CINTIO is the author of four books, including the critically acclaimed Walls: Travels Along the Barricades, winner of the 2013 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing and the City of Calgary W.O. Mitchell Book Prize. His latest, Pay No Heed to the Rockets (Goose Lane) is shortlisted for 2019 Alberta Literary Awards. Di Cintio’s essays have been published in the WalrusCanadian Geographic, the International New York TimesCondé Nast Traveller, and Afar. He lives in Calgary.
